Regular or Temporary:Regular Language Fluency: English (Required) Work Shift:1st shift (United States of America) Please review the following job description: Develop and execute human resources (HR) strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization. Areas of focus include managing producer/key person recruiting, leadership and professional training and development, and Insurance-specific incentive compensation plan designs and processes. This position will work consultatively with the Insurance leadership team in designing and overseeing people planning and succession planning processes and will work in coordination with BB & T Human Systems and Insurance lines/segments. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time. Accountabilities: 1. Establish and implement HR efforts that effectively communicate and support the organization's strategic plan. 2. Identify and develop HR plans and strategies to support BB & T Insurance Holdings' (BB & TIH) business objectives. 3. Develop and nurture an attractive Employment Value Proposition (EVP) to support recruitment and retention of high performers. 4. Function as a strategic advisor to senior leaders in the businesses regarding key organizational issues. 5. Deliver effective recruiting and work force planning to ensure that BB & TIH has the talent it needs to meet current and future business requirements. 6. Execute on a competency based HR strategy to ensure right skills, competencies and talent in each role and robust succession planning for key roles. 7. Ensure that our employment and leadership practices generate high engagement that meets business needs for workforce retention. 8. Ensure the use of rigorous performance management and compensation strategies. 9. Ensure that HR systems are robust, easy to use and facilitate people management decisions. 10. Develop effective people planning, development and succession planning tools for businesses to develop organizational strategies. 11. Deliver effective employee/career development opportunities to reinforce EVP. 12. Work to ensure that the company manages compliance, regulatory, enterprise risk and corporate ethics requirements. Leadership Behaviors: 13. Identify key HR needs and drive to results addressing top priority issues. 14. Anticipate direction of the business and grow internal personnel capabilities to fill current and future needs. 15. Continuously monitor internal and external talent and compensation trends and communicate strengths and gaps vs competition to senior leadership. 16. Foster collaboration within HR and across organization to address HR needs. 17. Manage budget and execution of programs. 18. Communicate effectively with subordinates, general employees and senior leadership. Required Skills and Competencies: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Ten years of related and proven senior Human Resources leadership and business partner experience 3. Proven experience as an HR executive in the Financial Services industry; Insurance industry preferred 4. Proven experience leading HR functions including recruiting, compensation, employee relations and training 5. Good knowledge of payroll, benefits and labor legislation 6. Strong project management and organizational skills 7. Effective interpersonal and written communication skills 8. Provide excellent customer service for internal and external customers 9. Strong time management skills 10. Ability to prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks simultaneously 11. Capable of working independently as well as in a team environment 12. Ability to work in a self-directed fashion 13. Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products 14.
