This position is for a Software Intern in the Honeywell Aerospace Engineering & Technology - Puerto Rico Electronic System Engineering and Application (ESEA) COE Software Team.
The selected candidate will follow the software guidelines outlined in the projects Software Development Plan and implement software development lifecycle phases (e.g. requirements analysis and development, detailed design, code generation, integration, test). Competency with hardware/software integration in a lab environment is desired. The selected candidate will work closely with the project engineer and software lead, to successfully meet software development/qualification milestones by planning, estimating and scheduling software activities.
+ Analyze and understand software requirements of varying complexity and develop software to satisfy requirements
+ Modify existing legacy software in C/C++ and assembly
+ Troubleshoot software issues associated with legacy and newly developed source code
+ Work close with hardware engineers and technicians to develop integrated HW/SW solutions
+ Develop and execute test software for qualification testing
+ Develop software documentation to be delivered to the customer and for internal use
+ Support Peer Reviews for documents, requirements, code, and test
+ Report project status and recommend appropriate actions to software Technical Manager
+ Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited university
+ Must graduate after December 2020
+ Must continue enrollment in degree program upon completion of the internship
+ Due to US Export Control Laws, must be a US citizen, permanent resident or have a protected status
+ Understanding various software development lifecycle
+ Demonstrate the ability to develop efficient and high-quality software
+ Knowledge of software configuration management and change management practices
+ Diverse and global teaming and collaboration
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills
+ Effective communicator in English and Spanish
