SUMMARY The Tour & Motorcoach Sales Representative promotes the sale of destination leisure group business, with strong focus on the tour group and motorcoach segments, booking business Jay Peak Resort lodging properties, activities and venues throughout the year by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, other duties may be assigned)

Ability to fulfill all duties, and complete these and other tasks as assigned:

  • Outbound sales efforts via telephone, email and site visits to tour and motorcoach operators, direct groups, prospecting and selling year-round group related business to Jay Peak Resort.
  • Work with clients and tour partners primarily based in North America, Latin American, South American, and the United Kingdom.
  • Drive lodging-based business group at Jay Peak Resort with a focus on up-selling Food and Beverage, and all available activities.
  • Host familiarization tours of Jay Peak Resort and surrounding areas. Coordinate all aspects of the tour including accommodations, food and beverage, and any other relevant aspects of the tour with the appropriate on-resort departments.
  • Develop proposals for new and repeat inquiries and responding to RFPs from group leads, for assigned destination group sales segments.
  • Work closely with Destination Services Coordinators to secure room blocks, process deposits and payments, along with rooming list coordination. Addressing cancellations and additions to existing contracts.
  • Work closely with Events Services Coordinators to secure event spaces, and BEOS for group meals, and other activities. Addressing cancellations and additions to existing contracts.
  • Work closely with tour company management and direct group leaders to assure the best possible match in services to the group's expectation and needs.
  • Work with regional activity providers, to provide tour partners with hub-n-spoke length of stay opportunities.
  • Guide direct group guests to transportation options, plus assisting with additional on-resort transportation needs for destination groups, accommodating regional transportation as needed.
  • Meet with tour operator representatives and group leaders while on-resort, to confirm service delivery by the resort.
  • Daily maintenance of calendar and group accounts, contacts, leads, and proposals for on-going communication, to plan for future tasks and activities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with tour and motorcoach partners, as well as direct group clients.
  • Investigate client issues which may arise before, during or after the group's stay. Work closely with the Destination Sales Manager and DOS to provide resolution for client issues.
  • Attend regional, Canadian and east coast tradeshows, as needed for promoting an booking year-round group business.
  • Other duties as assigned, which could be directly related, or unrelated to original position.

    This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

    Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


    Ability to read & interpret documents such as safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.


    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.


    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong working knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software, powerpoint, CRM database software, and lodging software.


    Must hold a valid State of Vermont Driver s License and be eligible for enrollment as a driver on Jay Peak Resort's Automobile Insurance policy. Must be able to travel internationally.


    The ability to read, understand and write in both French and Spanish, a plus.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions and extreme cold (non-weather). The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and extreme heat (non-weather).

    The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.


    This is a Winter Resort Area. It requires that work venues are varied, and in many cases include steep stairways, multi-level buildings and outdoor work areas, subject to very cold, sometimes wet or very sunny work sites. Some facilities are located at the base or bottom area and some are semi-remote and can only be reached by traveling via chair lift(s), skis or snowboards. Walking surfaces are frequently frozen, sloped and slippery. Proper footwear is a must, indoors and out. Work days and hours, as well as the number of hours required will vary, with an emphasis on weekends and holidays.
